The govt. officials of Karnataka Government presented various aspects of the consent award system, procedures prevalent in Karnataka.

After the introduction of the Industrial Promotion Resolution 2001 a large number industrialcorporate houses have shown interest for setting up their industrial units in the state. Such industrial units are expected to affect a large number of families. Realising this, the Govt. of Orissa with technical support from DFID and the UNDP have come up with a pro people comprehensive RandR Policy in 2006 taking into consideration the gaps in the RandR policies existing before 2006 in different sectors.

As part of its ongoing programmes on forced migration the Mahanirban Calcutta Research Group MCRG organized a three day training workshop on Internal displacement in India Causes, Linkages, Responses, and Durable Solutions during 27 29 July 2007 for sensitizing the human rights activists, academics, lawyers, young researchers and media persons on the issues relating to the human rights of the IDPs in India and for discussing the points pertaining thereto.
